Teaching and Learning Tools

Teaching and Learning ToolsThere are many factors affecting the tutoring market today. There are also many areas that continue to improve, but others that are declining, such as the field of learning aids, technology, and general public interest in learning. As far as the tutoring market is concerned, the one area that is increasing is the number of tutors who have experience and education in home-based tutoring. The number of people entering this line of work is steadily growing, and there is an influx of young adults looking for tutoring services. This makes this a field that is still growing, and which has the potential to have a great impact on the economic and social landscape of the United States. These students who go into the field of tutoring typically do so because they are interested in teaching, or because they want to enhance their skills and credentials by obtaining a teacher's certification. They have jobs and family responsibilities, or they are retired or working part- time. More, they are working with family members or close friends who may need help with a child, teenager, or adult.Other people go into the tutoring business to augment their income, whether they are looking to supplement their income by teaching, or they are seeking out a career to help ease the burden of caring for aging parents, or caring for younger children whose parents have lost their jobs. It also has become a field that is not only lucrative but also interesting. There are an enormous number of people who love teaching and who enjoy the social interaction and care-giving that the field of teaching can bring.Tutoring schools are more accepting of clients with special needs or emotional problems. More schools are hiring adjunct faculty members, who are not full-time faculty members, who have done extensive research in their areas of expertise and who are willing to give individualized attention to a child, teenager, or adult.Of course, technology has a tremendous impact on all things that we use. Technology has revolutionized the practice of teaching, making it much easier to produce high-quality courses for online universities, vocational schools, and for non-teaching specialists, such as audio or video tutors.Currently, we are seeing changes in the use of educational technologies across the board, from the way teachers use technology to the way learners use it. For example, many teachers are now carrying not only their own laptops but also mobile devices that allow them to access the Internet, communicate with their students, and conduct homework or class projects over the Internet. The tutoring market is very dynamic. It is predicted to grow by about twenty percent over the next five years. Some experts think that the market could reach almost fifty percent of the overall US population.
